  3. To gain legitimacy + credibility, the Taliban should: - give amnesty for all former opposing Afghans, except those that have perpetrated heinous atrocities. - genuinely guarantee women rights. I hope China push for this, esp since it is in their constitution; compared to Japan + Korea, Chinese women have more rights. If the Taliban treat women relatively well, the former have everything to gain; if they don't, they have everything to lose.
