@chiaki1142 He may look biracial, but he is MORE CANTONESE THAN BRITISH, so I don't fault him for the way he speaks English, esp since only recently, did he reestablished contact with his father. (He always was a HK local) As to the "decline in English Fluency post '97", that should be the individual Hong Konger's choice.

Because Wong has to think about English Words to use, whereas his Cantonese just flows organically.

@History Money Seems like I am the only one, who understands your post; I gave you the "like".

Interesting Video. Filipina Crisel speaks like an American/Canadian. Anthony has a British/Hong Konger Accent + has some trouble with vocabulary + forming proper syntax, starting @ 1:24. The interviewer, presumably Chinese, speaks with an heavy British Accent.

@ Yoda Melvin Is there a need for you to be so ANNOYING ??? My comments are not distasteful, AND THERE IS FREE SPEECH ON THE INTERNET.

@Callsign-Blade_RunnerSG Apparently your comprehension of English, is just like your written English

@H2X2E2532 It does sounds nice, bit I also felt she was EXAGGERATING her accent. WE ARE CHINESE; if one so desires, speak English well - British Accent Unnecessary.

Jacky Phantom Well, I JUST LEARNED YOU, AS A SINGAPOREAN, ARE QUITE POMPOUS. I am American; therefore, MOST LIKELY, MY ENGLISH IS BETTER THAN YOUR. Also, I highly doubt Lee Kuan Yew, would have written, "You guys..." - firstly, because I am female. - secondly, there is 1 ONLY ONE OF ME. For your condescending sentence to be GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT, you should have deleted "guys".

Jacky Phantom For PROPER ENGLISH, you should have just written "You". People don't write/use "American Chinese", but rather Chinese American. And "...u are a American Chinese..." is poor grammar. Seems like you NEVER LEARNED THE RULE "If the next word begins with a 'vowel', one should write/use 'an' instead of 'a' ". Not a "recent Hong Kong immigrant"; again demonstrating, HOW LITTLE YOU KNOW.
