  7. Totally agree. Assimilation is the goal for most of us immigrants, but maintenance of ones' unique heritage is equally vital. Frequently, Chinatown borders Little Italy; two of the world's best cuisine in one area.

  9. @TGN _1 With all due respect to you, and especially to Jeremy, it is his choice. Part of me agrees with you, but I also respect his decision to refrain from naming the culprit. What Lin did was actually very smart; he called attention to the violence that Asian-Americans are facing (just like he did last March, when it first started), but I think his Christian Faith (I am not religious) informs him to be charitable + not hurt others.(turn the other cheek). So he accomplished his main goal, without harming the offender. I know my first impulse is to get revenge, but that is not Jeremy's modus operandi - he never used the victim card.

  10. NOT TRUE. There is a working community in all Chinatowns. If you like overpriced food to stroke your ego, or don't know how to order, then you can bypass Chinatown. I am a professional and I still prefer the restaurants in Chinatown.

  14. Agree. There are several Chinatowns in both Queens and Brooklyn. I read, counting the one in Manhattan, there are ~ 8 Chinatowns in NYC, but I identify with the Manhattan one.

Hong Kongers are tough; they relied + protected themselves (masks, social distancing) despite their bad government.
