  1. Totally agree. Assimilation is the goal for most of us immigrants, but maintenance of ones' unique heritage is equally vital. Frequently, Chinatown borders Little Italy; two of the world's best cuisine in one area.

  2. NOT TRUE. There is a working community in all Chinatowns. If you like overpriced food to stroke your ego, or don't know how to order, then you can bypass Chinatown. I am a professional and I still prefer the restaurants in Chinatown.

  5. Agree. There are several Chinatowns in both Queens and Brooklyn. I read, counting the one in Manhattan, there are ~ 8 Chinatowns in NYC, but I identify with the Manhattan one.
