@stephenkolostyak4087 As per the OP, the genuine debt trap is the IMF LONG before China lent to Sri Lanka, this island nation, SINCE 6/1965, has taken out 16 loans from the IMF. The IMF frequently demands the borrowing nation enacts economic austerity, which is why both Sri Lanka and Argentina can't repaid their IMF loans.

@Adam-dd5fx Right, a white guy, whose ancestors whom were probably colonialists telling Africans about exploitation, is beyond rich. Give me a legitimate source for your accusations. For your info, China did NOT 'do it to Sri Lanka nor Africa'; our mindset is completely different from the west.

@anyone1200 And China recently helped Indonesia build the Whoosh, the only hi speed rail system in SE Asia. The Whoosh is life changing for many Indonesian workers.

@Adam-dd5fx I will give give an emblematic example of how China helps Africa. In 2003 the US/west imposed crippling sanctions on Zimbabwe, to the point that the economy almost collapsed. Had China not provided financial aid, investments, diplomatic backing and extended loans and credit, the African nation would have imploded. I am sure most African nations know about this case.
