I just want to say how mature + sensible you are; most girls in your situation will marry the first guy they see, just to escape your "mom". I think you will not only persevere, but you will also triumph, b/c you are KIND, SMART, STRONG + A SURVIVOR. One day, your mom will REGRET BERATING YOU. I know this is corny but - "What does not kill you, will make you stronger."
