I would respectfully disagree with the gentleman who stated that we must choose between keeping America safe or bringing troops home/ending the war. Switzerland has remained neutral and I dont recall any foreign terrorist attack on their soil. America, while definitely not neutral, can still have a good Intel programme at home that keeps foreign terrorists out and that thwarts domestic terrorists. No troops deployed to Afghanistan or other areas. I know, Boeing, Northrup Grumman, and others in the military industrial complex will ensure congress and the president keep it going though. Money trumps lives.

@ghandi-md2iy my point was that it's not considered corruption. It's considered lobbying. It's perfectly legal - that's the issue I have. And yes, there are many factors, both historic (eg manifest destiny, monroe doctrine) and modern, that go into this. I did not want to write a novel 😋

@censored1360 everybody and their mum is packing...at least in texas. Switzerland has stronger gun laws than the US so maybe we should follow instead of sending troops overseas.

Technically, the supreme court ruled in Reynold v sims (1966) that representatives must represent people and not trees (geography) has de jure ruled the US Senate unconstitutional. This is why state Senates dont have 2 senators per county mirroring the US senate of 2 senators per state. Either abolish the senate, make by population, or new amendment to overturn Reynolds v sims. It would be Interesting to have 2 state senators per county.

@batboy3746 the point is it could be said if you dont think it should apply to both states and the federal govt, then it is being a bit hypocritical and you kinda support a de facto unitary nation-state rather than a federal nation-state. The state drafters of the constitution mirrored theirs after the us constitution for crying out loud. That's why we dont have a parliamentary state of Oregon with a governor and premier, or a peoples commonwealth of Virginia with a standing committee and commonwealth peoples congress.
