When did homeowners protecting property become political? Both democratic and republican farmers, hunters, and 2nd amendment people exist. Indeed, many southern democrats and some northern democrats support gun rights. Im no trumper, but he's right in this case. According to the Missouri Castle Doctrine Law: "... a person does not have a duty to retreat: (1) From a dwelling, residence, or vehicle where the person is not unlawfully entering or unlawfully remaining; (2) From private property that is owned or leased by such individual; or (3) If the person is in any other location such person has the right to be."

Can a mayor or governor order businesses shut, without "just compensation?" I can imagine a business owner telling mayor to put up (give money) or shut up. Has this been challenged in supreme or any court? I understand the reasoning, looking at the legal end

The defence attorney can argue that it was a politically motivated prosecution. The judge can decide to either dismiss or send to trial. Believe the defence can decide if it will be a jury or bench (judge only) trial. For popular or perceived popular issues, it is best for the defence to choose bench trial if they are on the opposite side of the popular opinion.
