  1. My issue is the political system. I would rather live in a socialist economy and a democratic govt, than a capitalist economy and a authoritarian govt. Democracy is key.

  2.  @neillholley5061  Before the post ww2 era, Japan was more German & British oriented. They modelled their army and their govt on the "prussian" style.

  3.  @Ann-mj4xn  The US can influence the Japanese govt and can make veiled threats (if you enact/don't enact such legislation, we may be forced to leave and let you handle china on your own), but cannot actually make legislation. Japan is not a state of the US anymore than Cuba or china was a state of the Soviet union.
