Horses had once hauled carriages on land. Why not use whales to haul trade ships?

Work on the torque and ensure you test your shaft repeatedly 😁

Human ballistic catapults with a net at the receiving catapult station to replace airports and aircraft. Can use a sphere too if you want the whole family to have a fun trip. A little like cannonball meets lacrosse.
22
Future of flight: Google maps street view and VR, along with video conferencing (soon with VR).

🥔 potato batteries. Series or parallel, just like solar, can work great in groups 😁

Agreed. Hegg, even dilapidated malls would see a comeback if, in addition to the stores, apartments could be in vacant "stores" Obviously, if you live there, your first choice would be to shop there.

@gianni.santi. Nuclear power plants power the catenary lines above the road or rail. No internal engine in any vehicle. No refuel, no recharge. Only stop for washroom and snacks. Its not a new technology.
3
@elektrotehnik94 Any mention of nuclear planes? It can be made secure and deactivate automatically. The IAEA and ICAO, along with airlines can ensure compliance. No exhaust, except maybe water (not radioactive from the closed loop system). Convair NB-36H was experimented with in the 50s by the Air Force. With current tech, it would be even safer.

@Hyrum_Graff Nuclear (fission): umm, hello? Fusion also generates harmful by-products without protection too (eg x-rays, gamma rays). We need an ozone layer, magnetic field, distance, and an atmosphere to protect us from the largest fusion reactor in the solar system.

Smell farts while peeing (science people [scientologists🤔?] will get this).

Them and new farm equipment.
2
@fivemeomedia it does say Made in China 😁
2
@F B state capitalist economy, communist govt (similar to a corporate system with nominating committee vetting all candidates before they can be put up to vote by the shareholders).
2
@boogerking7411 färt? Ä? That's racist against germans and swedes 😋
2
@motmontheinternet I want to go double riding with napoleon on horseback though 🥺

Well, nuclear is cleaner than the natural gas somewhat touted. And iirc, radioactive decay by itself can give off enough energy for maybe a household. They did it for deep space Satellites https://rps.nasa.gov/technology/#:~:text=A%20Radioisotope%20Thermoelectric%20Generator%2C%20or%20RTG%20provides%20power,devices%20called%20thermocouples.%20RTGs%20have%20no%20moving%20parts.

Earth agrees. Humans, please leave.
2
Isnt that how UFOs are powered? 😋

There's always mountains and plateaus...

Over or underline Electric catenary wires with pantograph cars and trains. Power plant can be green (including nuclear).

No sci fi fantasy stuff? Like cell phones or online ordering? "The only difference between science fiction and science fact is a team of funded researchers." - author unknown

My ideal flight is one where there are family and private rooms, kids play centres (soundproofed walls or by the engines), and a bar where I can get my own drinks.
1
@rogercohn That's sad. I was thinking sky-train.
1
How about plankton power? Whales do it, why can't ships convert protein and fat to electricity?
1
I read as the chocolate company Nestlé 😁
1
Where is 2:55? It looks vaguely familiar as if I used to live there. Please let me know.
1
Damn dude. I got carbon nanotubes are hexagons and tubes, and it's like hard. The rest was like 😳😵🤯 Could you do a parallel series for 4th graders? 😋

@이주연-x4x Taken in for a tune-up (ie remedial whale training) 😋
1
@newdeal_99 A few things: 1) you can have more than one whale to pull the ship, just as you can have more than one horse pulling a carriage. 2) engines die too. When this happens, there's this thing called a radio...
1
Ionocraft: we don't need wings.

If Dublin is dead set on keeping under storeyed/ anti-high rise, might I suggest creating a new business (and maybe political) capital? Call it Tara like the ancient seat of power. Make a Singapore or Tokyo there. Shrew smokestacks, go for curtain wall glass towers like burj khalifa.
1
The ships are still coming, so all good 😋
1
Seen the last ship?

Do you get more than 100 volts out of the experiment? If not, it takes more power to turn on than to generate fuel.
1
I dont know. Those ships are pretty big. We'll have to splurge and use a 9-volt battery 😋
1
8:00 The rotor towers would be in the way of the shipping cranes that unload the containers.
1
@Hyrum_Graff Granted, but fusion, regardless of actual fuel costs, costs more in general. We can do fusion now, it's just nowhere near economically feasible.
1
@Hyrum_Graff Thought I said that...sorry. Fusion can be generated, but it's not economically feasible. Too much input to create, not enough output.
1
5:50 But what reduces the bobbing like you see in sailing ships?
1
@pancakes3250 Anything can be automated. Even me. I could be a bot 😋
1
How about a catenary wire run across multiple sea lanes? Ships can have a pantograph. This is how trains are powered in japan and some in Europe. External power.
1
Clean hydrogen...hello, Hindenburg 🤯
1
Helium can provide the lift for the battery, the ion drive can provide the propulsion.
1
@matthewgood8825 Brawndo. Its what plants crave. It has electrolytes.
1
Instead of flying, how about this? https://th.bing.com/th/id/OIP.kSrACDRRC_MxDki82Xj6nAHaHa?pid=ImgDet&dpr=3.53 We put numerous underwater cables across the Atlantic, we can do overhead cables too.

Real human engaging in child labour = jail time Corporation engaging in child labour = small fine (not proportional to income) So if I want to engage in child labour, I can just be a corporation. Pay off that pesky court so I can continue. Why dont corporations get suspensions for same jail term humans get (eg 3 years in jail is 3 years the corporation cannot be in business) and dissolution for life in prison or death sentence (eg life in prison is the company closed and assets seized)?

Mile-high sails!

Can only comment in the app so lost the guy I was gonna reply to: 25,000 mile long extension cord and shorter between airports. Planes plug in on one side and fly to destination and unplug. The ends of the cords are used and kept at the 2 connecting airports. A flight going back would use the same cord.
1
Or a very long pantograph on bottom of plane to connect to catenary wires thousands of feet below. No onboard power
1
Why not wind-up cars and homes? Battery powered winders so you dont tire yourself.
1
@einnAnnie Stars in the sky or great...squirrels and bears in the sky...run 😋
1
@ymi_yugy3133 I can see companies as mini-countries. It is good to leave the country every so often, but I wouldn't live outside of it if it were more of a pain to get back.
1
@ymi_yugy3133 that is true. Companies are like communist dictatorships. A nominating committee pre-selects candidates to choose from.
1
Knots? I want my containers to get here in machs. 😋
1
Build out of dirt? Why not do just that? Plant potatoes, then run a parallel or series of all the planted potatoes. Potatoes do hold a charge. 😁🥔
1
Supercapacitors for cars and each house. No more power lines.
1
Just over a century ago, we had used horses for millennia to travel. Why not domesticate dolphins or whales to pull the ships? We can make smaller if it turns out to be cheaper.. or we can genetically engineer a superwhale 30x the size of a blue whale for long hauls 😋
1
Electrolytes...it's what plants crave.
1
How about a wind (or other power besides solar) that can convert energy directly to electricity, without a turbine?
1
The one piece blade sounds more like a govt safety regulation than an engineering issue.
