  1. Just a thought, but why dont protesters just petition the European Court of Justice for an appeal? As an EU member, Poland is mandated to abide by its ruling or be suspended.

  2.  Luke K  I didn't call you names, please have the same courtesy. And the EU started as an economic bloc, but is more politically united now. And the ECJ has ruled on national laws and ordered they be changed before.

  3. Democracy isn't the issue. If the laws were made by representatives, then its a democracy. If the law was upheld by representative-appointed (or govt-appointed) judges, then its a democracy. Athens was a democracy (direct at that), but had slavery and treated women and children as property. And wanted to rpe and pillage weak states. Can't the protesters appeal the ruling to the European Court of Justice?
