Imagine if the us had trump for life...and all political opponents disappeared...from history and photos Democracies allow citizens to vote bimbos out of office before they can kill off 2 million+ people. And you can substitute trump for another president or prime minister/party, just using as an example

  11. I have seen capitalist economies with democracies and dictatorships alike, but I have not yet seen a socialist or communist economy with a democracy.

  12.  @thomasgrabkowski8283  Liberal democracies (you know, the modern ones) are considered democracies even though we don't vote on every single issue. We do have the right to change this form of govt to direct democracy through constitutional amendments in most countries so I will say that we are a complete democracy, just not currently a direct democracy...the Switzerland comes close.

  13. Funnily enough, the Nordic model used by Sweden and other nordic countries (eg extended social welfare in a capitalist system) is more a workers paradise than any socialist or communist country. And workers can actually relax and not spend 40+ hours at work.

  16. Whereas in a capitalist and democratic country like sweden; education, healthcare, pension is free, and you can take longer holidays than anywhere else. And yes, paid via taxes. All countries have taxes. If a politician is corrupt, we can vote them out.

  18.  @thomasgrabkowski8283  Maybe. I'm sure absolute monarchs said this and that mobs would rule about political democracy too. Economic democracy would be similar to worker-consumer coops. You vote for the managers. Perhaps get paid by how much work put in or goods/services rendered amd/or annual dividends of profits/revenues. In your own interest to work...and can make your own schedule (maybe).
