How about instead of just voting for Tweedledee or Tweedledum, we reform our voting system so third parties actually stand a chance. This is america. Why can I choose between 100s of cereals and 100s of toothpastes, but only 2 viable options for president or congress? American choices in the market, soviet choices in politics. Shame

@jayv9779 Local laws can be overridden by the state govt, and local cannot raise too many funds. State govts cannot deficit spend to invest as only the federal govt has that right. And rich people can skip the local-state-federal steps. An example of such resides in the white house.

If the police are defunded locally, wouldnt state troopers and the NRA supporters come out with rifles and camouflage to enforce the law...or what they think is the law (for the latter)? I believe in rural Canada, provincial police or RCMP (federal police) patrol. Cities without police are given a provincial or RCMP stations within, unless they wish to provide their own (which is still trained provincially, IIRC). Though, I don't recall the NRA supporters as gun-ho (pun intended?) for providing defence.

How about we just get rid of both? If you're conservative, vote for the libertarian party; if you're progressive, vote for green party. Get both the clowns out.
