🇺🇸🇨🇳: "International law for thee, but not for me." The international courts should have the right to suspend UN membership (including security council membership) for any member who ignores its rulings. Cant issue arrest warrants or summons for a nation, cant garnish wages of a nation, cant imprison a nation, etc. That would be the only power of enforcement they could have. Would also make the security council more accountable--with much power comes much responsibility.

Why is there international waters separating countries, but no international land separating countries? In other words, why are the borders between France and Germany (or US and canada) right against each other as opposed to a stretch of 30 km on each side for international land?

@daddy9132 It's both now. US will claim freedom of navigation of your property, China will claim that your property has always historically belonged to China. 😋

@regrets2894 I think the EEZ were originally closer to shore, but were extended in the 90s and 00s due to oil and other natural resources found. I personally think the total national territory should be 20 miles off the coast, including the EEZ. Beyond 20 miles can be international waters.

@aliwakanda7327 The UN decision in 1971 was able to unseat Republic of China (Taiwan) and replace with the Peoples Republic of China. It was general assembly vote so security council one vote couldn't override. Perhaps this should be done to get rid of China, US, Russia, etc from the security council. The federated states of Micronesia could be declared the successor of the United States by the general assembly, for example.

@comment sense Um, no. DNA testing shows both are human though. Koreans and Japanese do share DNA, however.
