Electoral college for mayors 😋 About as much sense as nationally.

Why are states allowed to select how electoral votes are done (winner take all, proportional, etc)? States aren't allowed to select how their congressmen or senators are selected...or give the term limits in U.S. Term Limits, Inc. v. Thornton, 514 U.S. 779 (1995). What's good for the goose...

Didnt the justices in reynold v sims (1964) say that one person one vote is all that matters and that trees do not count. Without county representation, what's the point of state senates? Sure they were speaking about states mirroring the federal govt with the state senates having equal number of senators per county, but "representatives should represent people and not trees" should hold true for the US Senate too. Things have changed in the us. Women and blacks didn't use to vote. The loser of the presidential election used to become the vice president. The electoral college appears to me to be an indirect way of what some countries do to elect presidents or councils. In Switzerland, for example, the swiss federal council (collective executive that can't fire each other because they were foretold of winner take all dictatorial-prone presidential systems) is chosen by both houses of the federal assembly (their senate and house) to elect the councillors.
