Propaganda does that. Repeat something enough times in a certain way and you will soon believe it. It can cause neighbours to kill neighbours and adults to kill children. Ww2 wasn't the last time this happened. Former Yugoslavia in the 90s, etc.

So, would the police and security have been legally authorised and held not guilty of murder or other homicide had they opened fire and mowed them all down? I mean, if american troops can execute american citizens if we call them a terrorist and drone strike them, american cops can shoot to kill in self and collective defence.

Only immune(?) while in office. Also, even if the federal courts don't try him, state courts could. And he couldn't pardon himself for state crimes, if he even could legally pardon himself (for federal crimes).
