@Ksch Koff jokes on all Americans. With exception of Bernie, both democrats and republicans are centre-right to far-right (blurry area). The US has no viable left party (how many congressional seats does the green party have?). Biden would be considered a Conservative Party member, Trump and his brand of republicans (not all) would be monitored by intelligence services.

Yeah, even if charges dropped, he'll never get to be a cop again. He'll have to sue the head officer's family or the police that put him with that officer. Sue for millions, unless you want to work at mcdonalds. Sad...

@Ksch Koff americans have 100 types of toothpaste, 500 varieties of cereal, yet only 2 viable parties? Thought Americans liked choice. Dont have to eat raisin bran, but should stock for those that want it.

@Purpleturtlehurtler if they're contractors, then they choose their own schedule. If the police leaders (commissioner, chief, etc) try to set schedules, they become employees. The argument for unions is valid though. However, i believe america needs more unions, not less. Keep in mind the us is the least unionised within modern democracies. Probably on par with Sudan...great comparison

If in some jurisdictions it is illegal to gather in groups, or has enforced social distance or even lockdown, would protesters - who get covid and end up giving to another that dies - be charged with murder, if contact tracing pinpointed the accused? I've seen law and order do bigger stretches than that.
