I guess most empires end with internal conflict and because of corruption. btw germany lead the regional command north in afghanistan for over a decade and people wondered why german soldiers need to die in afghanistan.. because of nothing apparently.

  3. you do realize germany pays for the US military bases right? also the US is only hurting itself. these 35k US soldiers are there for US military operations mostly logistics to the middle east. germany doesn't really care about them and they don't benefit from them.

  4.  @militaryrankings4325  you don't seem to know anything about military tech. the Puma IFV is better than the Bradley IFV, the GTK Boxer is better than the Stryker, the Wiesel 1 and 2 has no equivalent in the US, the PzH 2000 is better than the M109 howitzer, the Type 212 submarine has no US equivalent. for a central european setting the german military is very capable and well equipped.

  5. you somehow must have missed the entire cold war. who had the biggest army in europe on nato side? west germany. east germany also had a big army. in 1990 when germany reunified they had to quickly dismantle two big cold war era armies.
