ray britton a tesla has no petrol engine so it would have stopped working in france or belgium. the i3 on the other hand worked perfectly.

GrotrianSeiler the i3 worked perfectly and bmw has no explaining to do. that the cards don't work has nothing to do with bmw.

sliwka621 but it didn't fail. not even close. all cars might fail at any moment, but this one clearly didn't. the mechanics at bmw didn't repair anything because nothing was broken. a range extender is a range extender and bmw always said it's there to extend the range for a couple of miles and no to be used as the engine of the car. so yes it could fail when it's not used like it should be, but it's not broken. so stop your troll/libel comments, stop lying and misquoting people and fuck off back to wherever you came from.

sliwka621 "failed"? again you use words without knowing what they mean. the opposite is true. the car worked perfectly even when used in a way that normally shouldn't be possible since it was not designed to run on the petrol engine alone. what a great car this one is that it can exceed it's own design limits. that's outstanding.

sasajungic89 actually they are. and the more stop and go city traffic you have the better they get. your car (what ever a gt86 is) can't do 40mpg in city traffic. but mat used this car almost exclusively on the motorway so the regenerative breaking doesn'T do much. also he clearly planned to use the electric drive. it's not bmw's fault that he companies who own these charging stations fucked up mat's card. how on earth can you say "if you planing to use the petrol engine in the first place"? the entire fucking video is about who he planned to use the batteries. next time pay attention instead of writing stupid comments.

sliwka621 what broke? where did the car break down? the video clearly shows that the i3 worked perfectly even without electricity.

sliwka621 "malfunctioned"? do you always use words without knowing what they mean? the range extender solely powered the car and the car made it back to the UK without even one hick up. so where did it malfunction? you fucking moron.

sliwka621 there was no problem. the mechanics only said what bmw always said. the range extender extends the range but is not designed to drive the car all the time. so it might stop working every minute. but a after a road trip of what, 1000km or so it still worked. great. btw the message said that it's possible to keep driving but that the car should be serviced. nothing more. btw all german manufacturers use german electronics for the car itself. go to dresden when you want to see the german silicon valley with your own eyes. most electronics comes from there.

sliwka621 if your computer shows you a meaningless error message where you just press OK but nothing goes wrong or breaks down would you say your computer broke down? you idiot.
