no, look. try to think about where the torque, coming from the input shaft (left at 17:20) goes through to reach the countershaft. it's tricky and most people won't give it a second thought because this transmission in this video doesn't highlight the problem. but, the gears on the output shaft do spin freely on it. the input shaft is not connected to them in anyway*. do you now the problem? where is the connection between input and counter shaft? my guess is the 4th gear is bolded to the input*

wow you have no idee how a transmission works or what my question was but you feel still free to answer? the input shaft is always directly connected to the counter shaft, as far as I know. the question is where? but I think I already figured it out. since the 4th gear is a 1:1 gear I guess that the input shaft is mounted to the 4th gear cog wheel directly.

yes I got that. the gears spin freely on the output shaft and so on. but that does not explain how the countershaft is connected to the input shaft. in other videos there is another extra gear that connects the two permanently but here you only see the input shaft and right next to it the 4th gear on the output shaft and no separat gear that permanently connects it to the countershaft. so my best guess it that the 4th gear is spinning freely on the output shaft but is mounted to the input???

thank you, but I haven't figured out yet how the input shaft is connected to the countershaft. it is directly connected but where? why isn't it connected right where the counter shaft and input shaft are closest (at the input side)?
