  9. Actually, it's not, all salt is kosher. "Kosher salt", which only really exists in the US, is salt without added iodine or anti-caking agents. It's only intended to be used on Pesach, which has its' own set of dietary laws.

Pork was forbidden because domestic pigs will eat the shit of humans and other pigs, meaning if improperly cooked their meat would be very dangerous to eat. Shellfish were forbidden for similar reasons, relating to what is known today as shellfish poisoning.

  22. No, kosher salt is literally just salt without iodine or anti-caking agents. It isn't really found outside of the US because iodised salt is usually labelled as such. Jews themselves only use "kosher salt" on one day of the year, during Pesach, which has separate dietary laws than throughout the rest of the year.

  28. Jews have no idea what "kosher salt" is because most Jews don't use it, because ALL salt is kosher. Some Jews, mainly American Jews, will use it exclusively during Pesach, which has differing dietary laws, however this is uncommon and unheard of outside of the US.

  36. I've never heard of "Swine flue", however I have heard of H1N1 influenza virus, often erroneously called "swine flu", due to it first being cultured from pigs. It doesn't come from pigs and it isn't spread to humans by pigs.
