  2. Fun fact about Romania - it has the biggest VAT gap of all EU countries, at a massive 34%, according the the EU website! What do we in the rest of the EU get from this deal? More taxpayers' money going to corrupt politicians and more beggars. Why is the EU even making noises to suggest that this basket case of a country should be allowed onto the gravy train? If the aim is to increase trade, then the obvious answer is to merge the Russian and EU customs zones.
