  2. Stalin grabbed a chunk of Hungary after WW2 and pasted it into Ukraine SSR, complete with a few hundred thousand Hungarians, who have had a bad deal since Ukraine became independent. It would nor be surprising if Putin has done a deal to hand back this land, in exchange for keeping quiet Hungary was part of the Ottoman Empire under 1683. After that experience they are wary about having the sort of migrant influx that countries from Sweden to France have had. The political troubles that are affecting these countries are making a lot of people look with envy at Hungary. Hopefully they will keep up the opposition to Sweden joining NATO.

  3. Brexit has just been a nuisance for ordinary people in the EU. The wretched Single Market means that there is a lot of stuff we can no longer obtain easily. This is not trivial. We cannot get English language text books for university courses in under six weeks from when they are ordered. I had to drop a distance course at a Swedish university because of this. It is also a problem for libraries Hopefully the EU will soon be history.

  4. Vucic merely reflects opinion in the country. The Serbians detest the EU and NATO, based on bitter experience.
