How do you explain the generation who were brought up as communist atheists turning against their parents and embracing Orthodox Christianity?

Dawkins has written well on the subject of evolution. He is clear, entertaining and challenging, and definitely worth reading. However, he does not distinguish himself when he strays outside his area of expertise Dawkins has given force to the biblical literalists who promote a bonkers nineteenth century view of Christianity. The Orthodox Christian revival in Eastern Europe casts doubt on his indoctrination theory. In my own parish, the majority of members are young, were brought up under communism, and often at odds with their parents who have held to their atheism. They cannot understand why their children have gone back to the old ways.
