@desolateones They work like a refrigerator, backwards, so to speak. But there is only so much outside heat that can be removed and used for heating buildings, especially when it is cold outside. Scandinavian systems extract subterranean heat, ultimately from radioactivity of the granite substratum. The most efficient way to heat buildings is combined heat and power. Green electricity will always be unreliable. If CO2 is really the cause of the purported global warming, then we need a plausible theory to explain the mechanism. CO2 is a poor absorber of infrared radiation.

@theclotshotdidit3115 It is called Bergvärme. The ground is granite and warm due to low levels of radioactivity. It is still expensive to run. The most efficient system of heating buildings is Combined Heat and Power generation.
