Perceptive comments. Farming has gone in the wrong direction since the end of WW2. This was largely driven by the government and the EU. It needs too much input of energy, manufactured fertilisers and pesticides, too large in scale and there are too few people working on the land. I expect that the farm in the video was divided into much smaller fields sixty years ago and was a much smaller scale and mixed operation with traditional crop rotation. I suspect that output per acre would improve if farming was smaller in scale.
