  1. The EU's tariffs will cost Irish consumers and Irish manufacturers. It will cost more to transport goods to Ireland from Continental Europe than from anywhere in Britain. It is a simple matter of geography and logistics, quite apart from anything else. After Brexit, around half of the Republic's imports and exports will not be with the EU. Is this too simple and obvious for anyone to notice?
