  1. This dispute needs to be recognised for what it is - a legacy of the messy break up of the USSR. The present boundaries of Ukraine do not match linguistic, religious and ethnic differences and were never intended to. There are even bits taken out of Hungary and Slovakia in 1945. It needs to be sorted out with a bit of goodwill and commonsense. The EU is also a problem because of its trade polices which interfere with the flow of goods across all its borders. This is exactly the same thing as the Northern Ireland EU dispute. The protected Single Market is a dangerous anachronism which needs to be scrapped.
