  1. Oil is hard to get at now. We first mopped up oil off the ground in Pennsylvania, now we drill six miles down in the open ocean, or permanently poison the earth with fracking, and none of that would happen without huge secret subsidies from the people of the USA. Plastic now takes less that a fourth of the oil and gas we are pumping, but Big Oil is committing huge crimes and human rights abuses making that part bigger. What ever happens, the important thing to remember is that the entire government: local, state, and federal, is owned by a small number of oligarchs and they alone determine what happens in the USA.
