@JohnDoe-nf6yk The French Army was cracking and soldiers were mutinying against their commanders. The German Army barely had any food to be an effective force. America had very few numbers in France and were inexpereinced. That leaves the british as the ONLY army on the western front who could defeat the Germans on the battlefield to some capacity.
