  1. Forgetting the progress the English divisions made in the south and the only reason you made it to the German lines is because they ulster man had more dead ground in front of them.

  2. How? The British Army in 1918 a different beast compared to the army that went over the top on July 1st 1916. Lessons were learned very fast by all ranks since the British Army never sustained casualties anywhere close to those on July 1st ever again. New technologies/ doctrines were invented like combined arms warfare that managed to push the Germans back 100 miles in 2 months in the last days of the war.
