  1. I think these are sculptures, I dont know if I'm the spiritual successor to this man but I make dodecahedrons out of ceramics, plastic, and metal. I've veen obsessed with the shape my whole life. I think what's cool about dodecahedrons is they are what the cube is to the square and is the most complex foundational plutonic solid. Geometrically I think its one of the most strategic shapes and its a very good approximate for a sphere meaning its fairly resilient form to take for cellular forms like pollen and plankton. I can make a dodecahedron freehand the way most people can do a cube, there's a feeling of transcendence going one step more with the pentagon and I can't help but think this was a similar feeling back then. And maybe like a meme these things spread and it was kind of a cultural moment. They are certainly enigmatic, and if you dont know what to do with something and you just like to display it for its beauty, then it's functionally a sculpture anyways.
