  1. 16:30 I don’t understand why the Erie Canal isn’t taken seriously as a trade choke point and a unifying river system when you take the St Lawrence as one, which is pretty much entirely rapids from the Great Lakes to Montreal. The same lock system needed for the St. Lawrence would be used for the Erie Canal. New York would still be a massive hub for trade and commerce.

  2.  @copyrightedperson8157  Neither does the tech exist for the St Lawrence Seaway. The river is not naturally navigable.
