Fun fact: The Chinese-Russian-Iranian alliance roughly corresponds to the borders of the Mongol Empire.

@mappingshaman5280 Poland, Georgia, and Hungary were not part of the Mongol Empire. They were invaded by them, but never annexed.

@erikabloodaxe2581 That didn’t stop them in Southern China. The Mongols didn’t go into Northern Siberia because it would have been pointless. There was nothing to plunder or things to take over (other than a couple nomad tribes, tundra, and trees.)

Wouldn’t China invade Europe via Russia in this scenario? If the goals of the conflict are to destroy the other’s allies and economies rather than each other (and most likely lacking enough naval and air power to invade eg. Japan while having enough industrial capacity and people to simply pump out enough units to overwhelm any small European garrison), a surprise invasion into Europe and the Middle East by a massive Chinese army could be a tempting option. Even if the US leaves Europe militarily and has some sort of trade war over non-participation, Europe would still likely be a major trade partner of the US and be large enough economically to be a major aid to the US Alliance.

@mappingshaman5280 This assumes they have control of Korea, Taiwan, and SE Asia. India is a pretty big nut to crack, and the front lines are actually pretty small, especially considering the likely sizes of the nations involved.

@omargarcia517 Eh, throughout most of history, money and tech was far more important than sheer production capability for the military (eg. Medieval Knights vs peasant mobs)- and the Gulf War showed that quality > quantity in the modern battlefield.
