  4. mark jones Neither did Ebay, Twitter, Amazon, etc. in their early years- they were financed 100% by the tech bubble. Elon Musk is doing this because he can get away with it because he has been able to build up a sort of 'fanbase' and also convince investors to invest in Tesla even though it dhas never made a dime. Plus, Quantitative Easing meant that investors had WAY too much money to work around with regardless.
