  3. Ale Mangold It is about dominance- partially. Empire is a stretch. For example, S Korea is allowed to do whatever it wants, within limits. Britain and the Sauds can get involved in its own civil wars overseas (and have). And yes, other nations can get involved in our civil wars. It didn't happen for the most part- largely because France was in war with Mexico at the time, and Britain didn't want to completely piss off the Union if things went awry. thank god there was only one.
