  1. Note that GOP VPs, unlike Dem VPs, rarely become the presidential nominees of their party in later cycles. The only cases were Ford, Nixon, and HW Bush (and Ford only barely won his primary.) —- Vance is not likely intended to be a successor, but more just a loyalist for Trump.

  4.  @User122-ty  TBH, Trump is a unifying figure within the party. He’s toned down his rhetoric and he’s a former president who pretty much everyone at least respects. Even Haley (who was criticized for being too moderate) endorsed him. The issue is what happens after Trump leaves, as there’s not really a solid post-Trump ideology like with Reaganism.
