The old Monsanto that did that went bust and rebranded into the Monsanto we know today- Monsanto used to be a chemical company- now it's a seed company. It's not exactly uncommon.

Also, the reason food is distributed unequally is mainly because of lack of infrastructure or $$$$ to do so- the cost including the cost of food. Decreasing the cost of food increases the likelihood of the food getting to poor people in the first place...the first step to improving their lives.

ezviro Doesn't mean it should be used, just like we don't use mustard gas or nukes.

GMOs merely speed up that process....

That is, other than clean water.

Michael Sylvia Also, inflation... food is cheaper than ever adjusted for inflation...

3000i 678g Terminator seeds have never been commercialized due to opposition, both by farmers, consumers, and the UN. In any case, most seeds come from Suppliers to maximize yields... Also, prove that the taste is invariably going to be any worse than when you evolve it ‘naturally’ over a millennia. Taste is a major concern, but GM is not the fault logically.

@Kj73908 Different variants of crops taste different. Fruit tastes worse for example, now, but this does not have to do with GMOs, which are literally just changing the genes of a crop to your advantage. It's because of the homogenization of crops and picking too early, amongst other things. How is changing genes via splicing worse than the previous method of radiation-blasting crops in order to selectively breed them, or 'heirloom' crops that are also horribly mutated from millennia of selective breeding?

@Kj73908 That was the reason behind terminator seeds; to prevent cross-pollonisation. There has literally been 0 bio-diversity in crops since the invention of industrial agriculture. Everything is maximized to a maximum yield, producing a mono-culture. GMOs also may taste worse because of observer bias. But there's no reason, or evidence they actually taste worse discouting for the bias. https://gmoanswers.com/ask/why-do-gmo-foods-taste-so-bad

@Kj73908 You could have read the studies it cited.

@Kj73908 Also, it's not any better than you , who's cited nothing except their opinion.

CCD is thought to be caused by overuse of pesticides, something GMOs actually help PREVENT...
