  1. Considering that the Dnieper is relatively defensible, if Russia takes everything east of the Dnieper (and maybe Mykolaiv and Kherson), would it feel safe enough to be satisfied with that? Especially considering taking all the gaps doesn’t seem possible now.

  2. Despite the…questionable Russian finances, could/would they go into a total war stance to get enough artillery shells to continue to fight the war? Also, to be fair to the Russians, they’ve known a major counteroffensive was coming and where it would likely be. Probably smart to save ammo, especially when their own offensives have stalled out and the end of the Russian/Ukrainian fighting season is coming (Mud is a major concern in the autumn). So far, the Russians have had no opportunity to reorganize since the initial reorganization after the failure to capture Kiev.

  3.  @jscotthamilton5809  I’m talking more about dumb munitions, since they’re running out of them now. They still have enough old Soviet hardware otherwise.
