And? He never said the waste can’t be recycled, it can be, but the US doesn’t have any reprocessing facilities.

@blackwind743 Except those reactors (including the old PWRs) can use Pu-239, which is generated from irradiation of the much more common U-238 and is the primary source of long-lived radiation from nuclear fuel and is one of the primary ‘fuels’ generated from reprocessed nuclear fuel. There’s no actual shortage of nuclear fuel, just the facilities needed to reprocess and process the existing stockpile.
