  3. In the 70s my grandmother used to yell at the black people who walked down her street to stay out of her neighborhood. Now there are no white people in the neighborhood and it is one of the most violent neighborhoods in Texas.

  33. Actually it depends on the age and where you lived. My neighbor was 60 and used to say the n-word a lot. He was probably racist. We had a couple black families move into our neighborhood but they didn't stay more than a couple years. My best friend's father was the leader of the triple k in our city and I got kicked out of his house for being Italian. The kids were the first generation that went to school with integration. The white parents mellowed out and the black parents became more militant.
