These need to be legal..... the same as bicycles. In fact city infrastructure should be designed around electric scooters. Descent tunnels, with regen braking could travel people around the city, free from weather issues, while charging the scooters. This oppressive ignorance typifies everything wrong with modern British society TBH. Instead of promoting and capitalizing on new technology, it is oppressed. .

@danielk1380 Research LUDDISM. That failed too. . They are stable TBH. Should motorcycles be banned? The Internal Combustion Engine using petroleum is being phased out. Another complimentary solution is tunnels. . Battery swap like Gogoro = superb concept. One solution for inner city transport, that is free, perpetual and non polluting, is a series of gradually descending tunnels, like the London tube except dual and inclined. Gravity = free Imagine a gentle slope, like a ski slope in a tunnel. By using low friction surfaces it would minimize friction and charge scooter batteries by regenerative braking. Elevators could contain pollution at stations and air could be sucked out further minimizing friction in the tunnel. Such a simple solution would provide constant, weather independent, non polluting, city access within a 5 to 10 mile radius..... that could last for hundreds of years and allow for cyclists to commute long distances without pedalling and actually charge escooters etc.....

@danielk1380 The topic isn't you . Electric scooters etc..... ideally with tunnels to prevent road wear, increase efficiency etc.... are already used in many countries. Escooters and electric vehicles are the future..... Cars are too heavy. . Try understanding that progress occurs without your personal judgements.....
