I am from Russia, and all this time I have felt immense shame and pain for my country's actions. For that damned Putin, who has usurped power and started a war. For my powerlessness because we have long had a dictatorial regime, and the voice of ordinary people means nothing.
Now I am overcome with anger at America’s new policy. Trump and Vance acted toward Zelensky as if it were not a war where people are dying, but merely another trivial deal. This is not just unfair—it is dangerous for the whole world.
But you, Americans, have something we lack—a government that listens to you. You can influence policy through elections, protests, and petitions. Please help Ukraine! Use your voice so that Trump can hear. Ukrainians are a strong and resilient people, but if America abandons Ukraine now, Putin will win.
And this will not just be the collapse of Ukraine. It will be the collapse of the very idea of justice. It will be the collapse of the sense of security in Europe. Putin is someone who, if given an inch, becomes even more brazen. He doesn’t care how many of his own soldiers die. He pursues his goals, his concept of "greatness."
Today Ukraine suffered. Tomorrow it could be Kazakhstan, Belarus, or even Poland—if Putin sees that NATO is powerless. And believe me, Russia (if we consider the ordinary people, separate from the authorities) will also suffer even more. We already live in isolation, in fear and poverty. But if Putin continues his aggression, it will become a catastrophe for everyone.
Please do not remain indifferent. Your voice can change everything. Ukraine is fighting not only for itself but for the future of all Europe. And for the future of Russia, which we, the ordinary people, also want to see free and peaceful. 😔
