  1. In my family tree we have a Navy Captain, An Army Colonel, a Nazi SS officer, a Hitler Youth, a Vietnam Army vet, and an Air Force Academy student. Our present generation is a blend of all these people. There was a big overlap of the Army Colonel, the Nazi SS officer and the KKK. I've been aware of the vicious hatred of racists and witnessed the harm they can do that can destroy families and countries.

  3. @Madasin_Paine  the Army Colonel was part of the Allied Occupation of Germany immediately after the surrender. He became friends with the SS officer, learned fluent german from talking with him. The colonel was a southern white, extremely racist and misogynistic. He said he identified with the SS officer and understood why they were exterminating certain ethnicities and "undesirables". He carried that with him the rest of his life and it showed.
