And in the modern day, “good soil” does not mean anything. The reality is Puerto Rico right now has some of the highest quality of life in the entire Latin American world. And it’s not because PR was secretely rich beforehand and the US plundered it. The biggest value PR generate is not natural resources, they don’t have any. The biggest value PR generate is the high number of college graduates from their highly subsides college.
