  1. There is just so much naivety when it comes to Islam. The only way you defeat groups like the Taliban is by removing Islam from that society. Those Afghan Muslims who were happy to see the back of the Taliban wanted to have their cake and eat it - remain a Muslim while forgoing the harshness of the Sharia. Ultimately not possible.
