We already have laws against 'hate speech, threats, or violence', an Islamophobia law is about privileging Islam; a religion with capital offences for those who transgress against it, and with millions who believe in those strictures now living in the country, darkness can only follow from the police and prosecutors submitting to them.

This is the employment of vague terminology that can be interpreted in any way the authorities choose especially as it based on perceptions. It is another weapon to use against the host culture and majority. You cannot see how this will be used to shut down free speech about Islam and the discussion of Jihad. We already have laws against violence against individuals; we don’t have a vacuum allowing such things.
