Peter Hitchens made the journey from one ideological lunacy to another. Imagine comparing drink driving with possession of cannabis.

@elkpaz560 Saying the state can express it's authority on every issue is not a valid argument - his Trotskyite origins are showing here - drink driving adversely affected the lives of other people and it became socially unacceptable, so enforcing its ban was supported by the public. Hitchens doesn't care if his revulsion for drugs is part of the zeitgeist, he just thinks because he doesn't like something it shouldn't be allowed.
