The dark shape in the space between the Singer building and the Woolworth building are the twin buildings of the Hudson Terminal, built at the same time as the Singer (1908) then the largest office buildings in the world - demolished 1971. The gap between the New York Telephone Company building (now Verizon) seen at the extreme left, and the West St Building (visually adjacent to the Singer Tower) was the site of the World Trade Center, destroyed in 2001. To the left of the Woolworth is the Manhattan Municipal Building, and to its right the Transportation Building. The large double fronted building to the right of the West St Building is the Equitable Building which in 1915 was the largest office building in the world by area. Because of its lack of set backs to let light thru zoning regulations were introduced thereafter. The tower with the point to the right is 40 Wall St, originally known as Bank of Manhattan Trust Building (now the Trump Building). It was the tallest building in the world from April-May 1930 until surpassed by the Chrysler Building. All still stand.
