18:51 A crass oversimplification, "the bizarre notion...you invade a country to give women the right to wear miniskirts". Afghanistan was invaded to get Bin Laden. Though the regime that harboured him was of the fundamentalist flavour of Islam it didn't mean the invasion was at all anti-Islam. It actually should have been, but was called 'The War on Terror' by Bush, and is the reason why it was ultimately an unwinnable war as the enemy was not defined. Islam was pandered to throughout the occupation, and not at all challenged as the source of authority in the land. Women had worn Western dress in Kabul in the 1960s and 70s, is it not better to support people to live as they wish, rather than as they are commanded on pain of punishment by violent theocrats? In doing so we would be protecting our own right not to be so commanded. Communism was undermined throughout the Cold War by the West, but Islam, the first political ideology in history and equally desirous of global domination, was not even identified as the source of the treat that sent armies to Afghanistan in the first place.

King Alfred Then why did they leave?

@wolfiestreet6899 The official narrative is that Islam is a religion of peace - I said otherwise.

@costakeith9048 Islm imposed itself on societies that were once Christian, Zoroastrian or Buddhist. You speak of the 'flaw' in liberalism, but liberal Britain created the largest empire in history, and led the world into modernity. The millions from the backward Third Wold are trying to get into the liberal countries of the West because they don't like the values, and hence the living conditions imposed on them by Islm, an ideology that is anti-individual and anti-creative. People are voting with their feet. We should assist them where they are by acting against this 14 centuries old problem which would shackle the world given the chance.

@costakeith9048 I'm talking about giving people the right to choose, and that includes choosing Christianity. It wasn't feudal Britain that built the Empire it was the Enlightenment values of freedom to trade and stake your own claim in the New World. The Empire was not 'lost' - the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia still exist as expressions of the British race and values and are the living legacy of Empire. The rest India and Africa were developed from trade and and the desire to explore and was not intended to be permanent like the Roman Empire. The Empire was a net drain on the exchequer, and we are better without it. What exactly was 'disastrous' about the reforms of the 1830s and 1911? Your attack on liberalism doesn't acknowledge that our society is liberal in nature, and springs from our Christianity, to deny that is to throw the baby out with the bathwater. What we have today is not liberal, it is the opposite. It is the authoritarian excesses of leftism and conformist collectivism that have damaged this country.

@costakeith9048 Enforcing Christianity is contradictory to the spirit of Christianity, while enforcing Islam is essential to it - giving everyone no right of choice creates the cultural and creative Islamic backwaters that Trump had a term for, ending in ‘holes’. Enforced Christianity cannot possibly work as post Reformation there is no agreed form of Christianity. Charles I and Cromwell had opposing beliefs, which led to civil war. The divine right of kings? Good luck bringing that back. It is absurd to believe that the continuation of the British Empire was an option into the 21st Century. As if the countries in Africa, India and the far east would have happily gone along with it? This is pure fantasy. The end result of democracy is tyranny? Obviously not, democracy is the antidote to tyranny. What we have now it not democracy, it is a corruption of it; the will of the people is ignored again and again. All the “It’s democracy, it’s liberalism” is just nonsense and has to stop. It’s woke leftism and globalist technocracy, dressed up as liberal democracy that is imposing ‘equality’ over us.

@costakeith9048 It's time to remind you that my comment was about Islam, not the sects of Christianity, not democracy, not Russia and the Tzars. We in civilised Britain (God knows where you are from) either regain real democracy and the rule of law, or continue with the current pretend democracy into digital globalist despotism, which is turning a blind eye to the problems caused by the religion of peace.

@costakeith9048 The purpose of Islam is dual: to convert the world yes, but more importantly subdue it under Sharia - this is how Islam spread historically, by the oppression of dhimmitude. To imagine it is not a threat is exactly what they want you to believe. You have already had a Muslim in the White House, ("the future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam") and had Hillary Clinton won in 2016 her Chief of Staff was a daughter of the Muslim Brotherhood. References to Islam have already been removed from FBI training manuals. While martial law would be a good thing to halt the criminality and corruption, of the current establishment, it would only be to reintroduce REAL democracy, it cannot exist indefinitely as, like all things, a dictatorship will devolve into corruption.

@costakeith9048 Let's also not forget that Britain and France occupied Constantinople after defeating the Ottomans, and it was there for Russia's asking had not that country been subverted by Bolshevism with a desire not to cooperate with capitalists. What an opportunity missed. Just to point out that while Islam conquered the Byzantine provinces of Egypt, Syria and Palestine, the schism with Rome happened long afterwards, so it would be wrong to arrogate those places to the Orthodox church at that time.
